Common chase Westfield ace

Little Common have made an enquiry for Westfield midfielder Gordon Cuddington.

The Commoners, who like Westfield are bidding to climb away from the lower reaches of the Sussex County Football League Division Two table, issued a seven-day approach for the energetic midfielder this week.

Common player-manager Russell Eldridge said: “I’ve seen him in a few games that I’ve watched and I like the look of him. He’s young, he’s got good energy and he would be a very, very good addition to our squad.”

Cuddington, pictured, signed for Westfield during the summer having helped Bexhill United finish fourth in Division Two last season on the back of clinching promotion from Division Three the previous year.

Westfield joint manager Tony Harris said: “He’s been superb for us this season. He’s a player we rate very highly and we want to keep hold of him. It’s not an approach we would welcome.”
