Common duo train at Orient

Two Little Common footballers have attracted the attention of Leyton Orient.

Jamie Crone and Chris Cumming-Bart have spent a couple of days training with the League One club this week.

Common player-manager Russell Eldridge said: “It’s a good opportunity for them to get some extra training and train in a different environment as well.

“I think it’s fully deserved. They’ve been instrumental in our success so far this year and it shows we’re able to produce good young players.”

Former Brighton & Hove Albion youngster Cumming-Bart has scored nine goals since joining Common in the summer. Fellow young attacking player Crone, who had a trial with Crawley Town last season, has netted 16 times already this term.

“They (Orient) are going to come and watch them in a game situation and hopefully get them involved in a reserve team game at the end of the month,” added Eldridge.

After last weekend’s trip to Steyning Town in Sussex County Football League Division was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, Common will eager to return to action at Southwick on Saturday. Crone’s one-match ban rolls over.
