Elsewhere in Division Two, Westfield will feel justice was done with a 2-1 win at Storrington having been 3-0 up in the fixture when it was abandoned in the second half just two weeks ago due to a waterlogged pitch.

Bradley Owens opened the scoring on 38 minutes and although Liam Humphreys levelled before the hour, Danny Woodley hit the winner with 25 minutes remaining to leave Westfield needing four points from their last two games for a top five finish.

Bexhill United began life after Darrol Parris with a creditable 1-1 draw at lowly Rustington. Interim boss Nick Grant took charge for the fixture and Dom Bristow’s 50th minute equaliser sealed a point after Steve Kirkham had given the hosts a half time lead.

In Division One, Rye United fought out a 0-0 draw with strugglers Dorking Wanderers in a ‘home’ fixture played at Ringmer FC with The Salts now in the hands of Rye Cricket Club. Olly Lockyer came closest to scoring for Rye with a free kick that was tipped onto the post by the visiting goalkeeper.
