After their first 33 games yielded just three draws and 30 defeats, they always thought a home game against East Preston - who have had very nearly as bad a season as them - was their best bet for breaking their win duck

And that’s just the way it worked out at their Colwell Ground as a goal by Raphael Tepe early in the second half earned them the win.

It actually gives them hope of ending the season off the bottom - they are now just three points behind EP, though they are 84 goals worse off in the goal difference stakes.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, at least Rangers won’t end it with an infamous no-win record - and they might just go to Broadbridge Heath next Saturday with an extra spring in their step.
