The Reds first announced the signing of midfielder Tyler Frost on a two-year deal, after his release from Reading.

He has impressed over the past few seasons for Reading U23, scoring 14 times and registering 9 assists in 58 appearances in the Premier League 2.

The creative midfielder also scored once in seven National League appearances for Havant & Waterlooville FC during the 18/19 season, during a one-month long loan spell by the south coast.

Technical Director Erdem Konyar said: “Tyler is a player known to us through our Reading connection and Lee Bradbury. Tyler has a great work ethic and is a talent that we expect to show quick progression.”

Head Coach John Yems said: “He spent 3-4 weeks training with us before lockdown, he did well with us whilst at training, played at a good level before with reading and once again he could be a good addition to the squad.”

Frost will join up with the squad next week for non-contact training at their Horsham Football Club training facility.

Later Crawley unveiled full-back Archie Davies, who has joined on a two-year deal with an option of a third, after he was released by Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this summer.

Davies is an energetic full-back who likes to join the attack when needed and provide pinpoint crosses for the forwards. He played 90 minutes in Albion’s EFL Cup third round clash at The AMEX Stadium last season, where he impressed in a 3-1 defeat to a full-strength Aston Villa side.

He has also been a regular for Brighton’s U23 side over the past three seasons, making 35 Premier League 2 appearances.

A four-month loan spell at Whitehawk FC in 2017 also handed Davies more experience in the men’s game, but Davies claims the transition should be smooth saying in a club interview: “I’ve had good experience in the men’s game in different competitions with Brighton so I am ready to test myself in the football league.”

Konyar said: “Archie is a very exciting player. His abundance of pace and athleticism provide him with the elements of an attacking full back. We are excited to have captured Archie.”

Yems said: “I saw Archie last year, he could be a top player for us, with experience of being at Brighton over the last eight years, he’ll be a good contender to challenge for spaces.”

Davies will join up with the rest of the squad when training gets underway next week.
