And on Tuesday night they looked - for 70 minutes - as if they were going to get a good result at Exeter City. But two goals in five minutes condemned the Reds to another away defeat.

Craig, who is one of many new signings since the summer, said the Reds 'sellf-destructed' at St James Park after being in 'control'.

He said: "For 70 minutes were were in full control from front to back but we self destructed a little bit.

"Give them their due they took their chances. They are a very good side but for 70 minutes it was a very good away performance.

"The last 20 minutes we were under the cosh and just couldn’t hold on.

"You always take positives from games but it’s a results business. We lost tonight but we will look at our performance on Thursday see what went well and what didn’t.

"The gaffer has some decisions to make. There were some good performances out their tonight but we just needed a complete 90 minutes performance.

"We are still finding our feet - but that excuse is running out now. We have a hard game away at Salford now but it’s one we are looking forward to."
