Andy Drury delighted to be back at Crawley Town

Barker’s management style and knowing current Reds Dannie Bulman and Sergio Torres helped the Crawley boss get his man.

Drury said he was delighted to be back at the Broadfield Stadium having re-signed on a two-year deal on Monday after being released by Championship club Ipswich Town.

Drury, 29, impressed Reds’ fans during a loan spell at the start of the 2011-2012 season, where he scored three goals in 13 appearances.

He said: “I’m delighted to be back at Crawley Town, it feels great. I really enjoyed my spell here back in 2011, it felt longer than three months and I played really well. I can’t wait to get started and put in the hard work before the season starts.”

Reds didn’t lose a game when Drury played during his loan spell in their League Two promotion season and the midfielder also netted a goal on his debut against Bradford City.

Drury believes despite high expectations, he hopes to emulate the success he previously achieved here at the Broadfield.

He added: “I played well and the fans took to me. We didn’t lose a game and the feeling around the place was good. I’m hoping to impress again this time round but the standard of the league has improved so me and the team will have to work even harder to make an impact.”
