The 36-year-old former Millwall and Crystal Palace centre back has been out of favour at the County Ground this season while Reds interim manager Dean Saunders is keen to bolster his defence ahead of this Saturday’s home game against MK Dons.

An injury crisis meant Saunders was forced to field three players out of position in the back-four for their 0-0 draw against Colchester on January 1.

Swindon chairman Lee Power said: “We’ve had an offer from someone so we’ll forward that to Darren’s people and we’re hoping for some type of answer today.”

Sonny Bradley is set to return but Dean Leacock, Ryan Dickson and Lanre Oyebanjo are all injury doubts.

Former club captain Josh Simpson who has been out of action for almost the entire season so far has been ruled out for another month with his hamstring problem.
