Proctor is one of only four out of contract players to be offered new deals, with the 11 others all being allowed to leave to find new clubs.

Proctor has until the end of May to make his decision, along with the three others offered terms, Dannie Bulman, Connor Essam and Mike Jones.

Speaking to the Crawley Observer today (Tuesday May 6), Proctor said: “I’ve not made any decision yet, the season has obviously only just finished and the offer has only just come in.

“We’ve got a fair amount of time to decide so I’ll be considering it, I want to make the right decision, speak to the club and go from there.

“I’m pleased to be one of those offered a deal, I’m one of the lucky ones with a choice to make.”

The 22-year-old was released by Swansea City before he joined Reds in January 2013 so he has empathy for those not offered deals.

He said: “I know what it’s like being let go and it’s never nice to see people leave but that’s just part of football and we all accept that. “It’s tough but all those who are going are good players who will find other clubs.”

And with manager John Gregory already started a major rebuilding project with only seven senior players currently on the books, Proctor added: “From reading comments from the manager both he and the club want to go in another direction and freshen it up. If I stay that could be exciting to be part of.”
