Cambridge recruited excellently in the summer signing the likes of Mullin and Wes Hoolahan, who has been an excellent addition to Cambridge. Hoolahan was training with Cambridge in pre-season of 2019/20, but a move to Australia saw the chances of him signing for Cambridge plummet.

However, they managed to convince Hoolahan to come back at the start of this season and he has been a key component to their performances.

They’ve had an incredible start to the campaign and credit must go to Mark Bonner for getting his side playing some brilliant, entertaining football. In their opening eight league fixtures Cambridge managed to score three or more goals in four separate games, with 5-0 wins over Morecambe and

Scunthorpe, a 3-0 win over Carlisle and a 3-1 win over Port Vale.

However, they’ll be coming to the People’s Pension Stadium knowing they’re facing a side who are fantastic on their own turf and consider the place a fortress.

Crawley’s home form is superb, and they often play some very good football on their home soil. In their opening four home games Crawley have scored ten and conceded just once, gaining three wins and a draw at their home ground.

However, they will be matched by a side that have an incredible away record, with Cambridge winning three and losing one of their opening four away games. In these games Cambridge have managed to smash in 12 goals and only conceded two in the process. It sets up nicely to be a fantastic game, with two teams who will feel confident and think they have a good chance of claiming victory.

This could allow for plenty of goals to be flying in or a tight scrappy game. A large margin of victory for either side seems unlikely.
