Miles struck after only four minutes with a confident first-time half volley when visiting player-manager Dave Adams could only put a glancing header directly into his path.

That was a sign of things to come from the visiting defence and on 18 minutes Jamie Weston’s free kick took a deflection off a disjointed wall to beat the keeper.

Miles made it 3-0 in spectacular fashion on 24 minutes when he lobbed the keeper from outside the box and 10 minutes later completed his hat-trick with a simpler finish inside the far post.

Crowborough only seriously threatened Simon Lehkyj’s goal once in the first half when the keeper made a smart save to deny Tom Saunders from close range.

The league’s leading scorer Phil Gault struck his 30th of the season just before half time with a cheeky free kick that took another cruel deflection before flying into the top corner.

But full credit to the visitors for coming out after the break a rejuvenated side and working hard to try to get something out of the game.

On the hour mark their efforts were rewarded when Scott Taylor tucked the ball away from a tight angle after Lehkyj had denied Alex Rich.

But things then started to turn a little unsavoury and Crows had three players booked for dissent as frustration was taken out on referee
