Dockers set up massive tie with Crawley Town after Littlehampton win

Newhaven set up a massive home tie with Crawley Town in the Sussex Senior Cup when they beat a 10-man Littlehampton 5-1 on Tuesday night.

Newhaven hit five second half goals to reach the last 16 of the Sussex Senior Cup.

The Dockers will now play Crawley Town, of League One, in Round Three of the county’s major cup competition.

Lee Robinson (2), Richie Watton, Ebou Jallow and Mark Probert all scored for Newhaven who ran out comfortable winners after Shay Wiggins had seen red for Town. Danny Hand made it 2-1 early in the second half.

The tie is to be played January 22.

Ringmer came from behind to beat Lingfield by the same 5-1 margin in the Blues’ first home game since October 27 on Tuesday.

Goals came from Marc Whiteman, Tony Reid, Aaron Watson (2) and an OG.
