Double blast gives Rye key victory

Rye United maintained their push for the Sussex County Football League title with a home win on Saturday.

Goals in the 14th and 15th minutes from Liam Upton and Matt Maclean gave Rye a 2-0 victory over eighth-placed Redhill at a wet and windy Salts.

All of the top five were triumphant in the first Division One matches in February, including fourth-placed Hassocks, who won 1-0 at home to Sidley United with the only goal coming 20 minutes into the second half.
