Bloor echoed those sentiments, emphasising his ‘disappointment’ in the decision, but paid tribute to his players and management staff for an excellent effort during their curtailed 2020-21 campaign.

He said: “Of course (there’s) disappointment. We wanted to continue playing as a club.

“It’s a decision we were never involved with. There’s just disappointment from us from the playing side and the whole club.

“When you look at how the club was when I took over as manager I think we were fourth-from-bottom.

“To finish third-from-top when the season ended, and we had a magnificent cup run against Blackpool, I’m immensely proud of the whole club, my management team and my players.”

Although Borough won’t take to the field competitively again until August, Bloor will continue to put his player’s through their paces.

He added: “We’re going to try and tick over with some fun training sessions. That’s more for mental well-being than anything.

“When you’ve been together three times a week, it’s more for mental well-being.

“That’s what we’re looking to do, just continue with some fun training sessions.”

Bloor revealed that planning for the 2021-22 National League South season is well underway.

The man in charge at Priory Lane also told supporters to keep their eyes peeled for an announcement regarding Eastbourne Borough’s pre-season plans. “Bloor said: “(Planning) has already started, it started last season. You’re always looking to improve, albeit I don’t think there’s much we want to do.

“That’ll all be going on when we play pre-season games and so forth.

“There’s nothing concrete on pre-season friendlies although there should be an announcement soon.”
