Eastbourne boss sad to say goodbyes - particularly to his skipper

Borough boss Danny Bloor says he is “moving ever closer” to completing a squad for the new National South campaign – after first saying some farewells.

“We have said some goodbyes,” Bloor told the club’s YouTube channel, “and they go with our thanks and best wishes.”

Club captain Kane Wills is expected to join another National South club. Mike West and goalkeeper Tom Hadler are headed for Ebbsfleet United - the only club relegated to Borough's division from the National League. Tobi Adebayo-Rowling has also departed from Priory Lane.

“All those lads gave excellent service,” said Danny, “and I want to make special mention of Kane, who has been an outstanding captain and a great servant to this club.

"I’ve known him a long time – I actually played with his Dad! - and we will look forward to welcoming Kane and the others back, albeit in a different shirt!”

Bloor is still in discussion with a clutch of possible signings, both familiar and new faces. “These things take time, and – unlike most close seasons – we are not under pressure of time! Within the next week or ten days, I’d expect to have some firmer news.”

Along with new skipper Charlie Walker, lethal striker Greg Luer has committed for another year at the Lane.

“To have two double-figures front men like Charlie and Greg in your side is brilliant,” said Danny. “I want a team that entertains and excites our supporters – and we’re starting from the front!”
