Both Haywards Heath Town's first team and reserves returned with wins on the road today (Saturday).

The first team overcame a tough test at Eastbourne Utd and the Reserves beat Mile Oak Reserves.

All the signs prior to the match with Eastbourne Utd pointed to a difficult match and so it proved with just a single goal separating the two sides after 90 minutes.

In a tight first half with few chances for either side the hard working hosts pressed hard and made it difficult for a flowing game.

The second half saw the deadlock broken almost straight from kick off as George Hayward found Jamie Weston on the left and his cross in was met by Trevor McCreadie who headed home the only goal of the game and his 30th this season in all competitions.

Chances continued to be at a premium with Callum Saunders firing just over and Eastbourne's best chance being well saved down to his left by James Shaw.

The Reserves continued their good run of form with their fourth win in a row with a good victory over the higher placed Mile Oak Res.

Karel Kutaa opened the scoring after 10 minutes only for the hosts to pull a goal back on the stroke of half time. It was Karel Kutaa that would have the last say on the day after converting his second after 55 minutes which was enough to give the Reserves all three points at Mile Oak.
