EP boss Di Paola eyes the title

EAST Preston Football Club manager Dominic Di Paola is targeting five wins from their remaining eight games to seal the County League Division 2 title.

EP could seal promotion into the top flight with a win at Dorking on Saturday, a clash which has been quickly rearranged after last week’s postponement, but Di Paola and his side have their sights firmly set on the title.

He said: “We need two points for promotion, but we are really looking at five wins from eight games to seal the title.

Promotion will happen sooner or later, but the title is definitely what we are aiming for now.”

It will be the second time in as many years, Di Paola and his management team of Jan Miller and Ian Browne have sealed the title and promotion if successful, after they claimed both honours with Worthing United last season.

Midfielder Joe Shelley is on the road to recovery from a horrific double-jaw break last month.

Shelley was back at work this week and with an estimated six weeks until his breaks are fully healed, there is a chance he may play again this season.
