EP make final improvements ahead of Ryman grading

EAST PRESTON Football Club are making the final improvements to The Lashmar this week as they look to venture into the Ryman League.

The County League Division 1 leaders are aiming for promotion this season, and, in order for the club to advance, it is imperative that they pass the FA’s ground grading regulations.

EP intend to gain Grade D status but do have a string of small jobs that need completing ahead of the deadline on Monday.

Club committee member Terry Doyle says he can’t see any reason why the club won’t meant the deadline and is confident the work will get completed.

He said: “It is all in hand, in the sense that we need outside toilets but we have got toilet blocks that are due to be plumbed in on Monday.

“Also, we have had turnstiles delivered so we have a bit of work to do there. We are part through the concreting that needs to be done and we have got the turnstile covers that need to be put in place.”

To ensure the club meet their deadline they have formed a work group that will consist of the manager, players, committee members and fans.

Doyle added: “There is a group of us that went on the weekend to do the touches of the paint and the yellow lines etcetera around the stadium.

“So as things stand we are confident that we will get done by the deadline.

“We had a meeting the other night and went through everything that is outstanding and put a time-scale on it all.

“We have also made timetables and everything we need to acquire has been acquired.”

The club have already had an inspection and the remaining jobs are the final hurdles to overcome for the club to attain Grade D status.
