EAST Preston Football Club progressed into the third round of the John O’Hara Cup on Tuesday evening without even kicking a ball.

Their opponents Midhurst & Easebourne conceded the second-round tie at The Lashmar as they were unable to raise a side.

EP will now host Selsey in the next round.

EP manager Dominic Di Paola said: “It’s disappointing for the game to be called off at this stage as there are some of my players that could have done with the minutes.

“But the only positive is it will give one or two a chance to recover from niggling injuries and means we now have more time to prepare for what will be a tough test on Saturday.”
