Ex-Arsenal ace delights fans

RAY Parlour proved a very popular special guest at the latest fund-rising dinner staged by the East Sussex Arsenal Supporters’ Club.

The event proved extremely successful with more than 70 people attending at the Royal Victoria Hotel.

The former Gunners midfielder entertained with stories of his playing days and took part in a question and answer session before signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Chris Whyte, another ex-Arsenal player, was also a dinner guest, while locally-based compere Adger Brown conducted an auction and raffle which raised more than £500 to Arsenal’s chosen charity this season, Centrepoint.

The Hastings-based supporters’ club was formed in the mid-1990s by brothers John and Mark Mills, and friend Barry Emery. It now has some 800 members across 1066 Country, and runs coaches and minibuses to every home game and most away games, including trips into Europe.
