Five more teams in football league

There will be five more teams in the East Sussex Football League during the 2011/12 season.

Twelve new sides are included in the agreed composition for the new campaign and seven have dropped out, making a total of 86 as opposed to the 81 of last term. There will still be eight divisions.

The new boys are Eastbourne Amateurs, Spartan 04, Langney, Ore Athletic, Wittersham, Bo-Peep Marina, Rock-a-Nore II, Grasshoppers Old Boys, Wittersham II, Bexhill Rovers, Herstmonceux III and West Hill United II.

Departing the scene are Polegate Town I, Eastbourne Town III, Eastbourne Galaxy, Eastbourne Fishermen I, Punnetts Town II, HG Aerospace and Polegate Town II.

Four clubs have changed name. AFC Peasmarsh & Iden is now Iden, Wheatsheaf (Willingdon) has become Eastbourne Albert, Beulah Baptists has switched to FC Bexhill and Kurdistan United has turned into St Leonards Warriors.

The Premier Division will again consist of 11 clubs with White Knight and Old Town Athletic coming up from Division One, Hooe Sports dropping down and Polegate’s front side withdrawing.
