Hailsham Town boss Ian Stevens said he was frustrated by the lack of recent action as his side prepare for another weekend with no competitive football.
The Stringers haven’t played since December 16 last year because of the weather, while there is no fixture scheduled this weekend despite the fact they have a cup match with Wick and Barnham that could have been brought forward.
“It’s crazy,” Stevens said. “I don’t know why to be honest. I thought they might put the Wick and Barnham game in as we are still yet to play them.”
Stevens is hoping to give his players some sort of run out as his side host Arundel in Sussex Division One on Tuesday night.
He admits that it will be a tough task due to a lack of match practice but the players will have fond memories of Arundel after winning 7-0 away from home in the Sussex Senior Cup earlier in the season under former boss Andy Goodchild.
“I don’t really know about that game,” Stevens added. “Something was right that day but I won’t expect the same.”
