John Foley has been appointed as the permanent manager of Seaford Town.

Foley was put in interim charge towards the end of last season following the sacking of Ben Barnett.

While Town interviewed numerous candidates, Foley was always keen to take the job on a permanent basis after building a good relationship with the players and steering them to their one and only point in Sussex Division Two.

Chairman Bob Thomsett said, “We feel John is the best person to turn the club around.

“We’ve got a great youth set-up now and we have the right infrastructure.

“We could have gone for a quick-fix, we could have picked a manager who may have come and gone but we then run the risk of losing a young man who has shown tremendous character and tremendous ability.”

The rebuilding job for Foley is enormous. Town lost all but one of their games last season and finished the season with just one point.

Foley is expected to bring in some numerous faces but remains keen to keep some key figures around.

The new boss has expressed his desire to keep captain Kieran Perkins among others.
