A host of football games in the area have been called off because of the wet weather affecting the region.
Lewes’ game at home to AFC Hornchurch was postponed earlier this morning due to a waterlogged area of the pitch at the Dripping Pan.
And Peacehaven’s Ryman South fixture at Walton & Hersham was also called off.
Meanwhile, in the county league, Ringmer’s game at Rye United was called off, as was Saltdean United’s game at home to AFC Uckfield, and Uckfield Town’s match at Sidlesham.
An 11am pitch inspection was held at Fort Road for Newhaven’s game with Hassocks. And at 11.14am, the Dockers (@NewhavenFC) tweeted: “Today’s Division One match between Newhaven and @hassocksfc has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. #dockers.”
A pitch inspection was scheduled at The Crouch for 11.15am for Seaford Town’s game at home to Eastbourne United AFC.
Hailsham Town’s game at Crowborough Athletic is ON - subject to a midday pitch inspection.
Crowborough Athletic (@CrowboroughAFC) tweeted: “Game on today, pitch okay subject to pitch inspection by match referee around noon time.”
