There are only eight selected areas in the Country and The Regis School was selected for the south-east launch.

The ten-week programme was launched with the FA Vauxhall mash-up road show which included the branded van and stage where Colin Nell and Noel Battle - professional football freestylers - showed off their skills.

Pupils were given the opportunity to have freestyle clinics where they were taught new skills by the players. They also engaged in interactive photo opportunities through the mash-up Facebook page and played a football tournament under the guidance of highly-qualified FA Vauxhall coaches.

The scheme aims to encourage players of all abilities to engage in football to help to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle through the sport.

A Regis School spokesman said: “We continue to link with national governing bodies to create fantastic opportunities for the pupils.”
