And, along with manager Jack Pearce he is keen to see the Rocks picking up on their slick brand of easy-on-the-eye passing football when the action resumes to the refurbished Nye Camp.

Blake will help out with a socially distanced fans' working party later this month with volunteers tasked with generally tidying up the ground as preparations to welcome football back continue.

And the former Burnley, Leeds and Bradford striker does so brimming with pride at the developments at the club's home during the pandemic. As well as the new main stand, new floodlights and a refurbished toilet block, fans will be able to congregate behind the goal at the Season's end of the ground under a roof thanks to a new structure.

Blake said: "The ground has come together with the new stands and is a venue of which all Rocks fans can be proud. The club have done a marvellous job behind the scenes to get the ground in such fine shape. We may not have had any action on the pitch but off it plenty has happened and it is there for all to see just what progress has been made.

"The players have always recognised the Nye Camp as being a special place to play but the ground now is even better, a magnificent venue. We can't wait to get back and hopefully reward the supporters with some decent displays when we eventually come back. It'll be good to help out with the spruce up and it'll no doubt whet the appetite.

"We've missed a lot of football and of course that is frustrating but the needs and health of the nation must come first. We'll return when it is safe and we hope for a joyous return with lots of big smiles on the faces of the players and fans.

"Hopefully we can continue playing the expansive game we have become known for and give it a real go when the big kick-off comes around in August."
