“He’s a natural scorer who will push our returning and incoming attackers to new heights.

“Even better, he’s a humble lad and raised incredibly well so he’ll be a welcome addition to the locker room as we chase a championship.”

Bo Oshoniyi, the Bobby Clark head coach of men’s soccer, said of Collins: “Tom was identified early on by our staff and then came over to attend our summer camps.

“His work rate and desire stood out immediately. Our interactions with Tom made it clear that he was the type of guy we wanted in our locker room.

“You are always looking for personality characteristics of guys who desire to play in the central midfield role and he is a guy who will help keep us organised and demand a level of work-rate out of the teammates around him.”

David Caryer, director of football at Bede’s, said: “I am really pleased that both Tom and Rex are continuing their football journeys at such excellent establishments, which will not only prove them with world-class facilities, coaching and opportunities but also allow them to continue their academic education.

“Both have been outstanding advocates of Bede’s football and key members of the Bede’s first XI squad for the past three years. I wish them all the best and will be keeping a close eye on their progress in the coming years.”
