With the sun making a rare but welcome appearance, The Polegrove pitch has passed an early morning inspection and the Sussex County Football League Division Two affair will kick-off at 11am.

Fourth-placed Common are seven points and three positions above Bexhill, but Bexhill ran out 6-0 winners when the clubs last met in a Division Two Challenge Cup quarter-final at the same venue early last month.

Elsewhere, Hastings United’s away game against Ramsgate in Ryman Football League Division One South is subject to a 9am pitch inspection. United will be desperately hoping the match goes ahead having not completed a game for nearly a fortnight.

Rye United’s trip to Crowborough Athletic in Sussex Division One and Westfield’s visit from Sussex Division Two leaders Eastbourne United AFC were both postponed on Christmas Eve due to waterlogged pitches.
