Golds back to winning ways at Oakwood

Littlehampton Football Club returned to winning ways on Tuesday with a 3-1 win away at Oakwood in County League Division 2.

After suffering their first league defeat of the season on Saturday at Broadbridge Heath, Golds boss Mark Bennett was pleased with his sides’ response.

He said: “It wasn’t a brilliant display, but it was better and they responded well which was good. We had a chat before the game and expressed a few disappointments and they responded in the right way. It was a game where I never really thought the result was in much doubt, no disrespect to them.”

Golds went ahead early through an own goal from a corner, while George Gaskin netted in the 18th and 70th minute, before Oakwood pulled one back with a penalty.
