They fell behind to an early goal and had to work very hard to get back into it and saw several chances saved by the keeper.

They finally broke down Exeter as Dan Kempson picked up possession from a short corner before advancing to the edge of the area and rifling a beautiful left-footed finish into the top of the net.

After the half time break, Chichester benefitted from sloppy defending with striker George Landais pouncing to make it 3-1.

The University of Chichester men’s football club are making impressive strides this year – they are currently ranked No1 in the UK, which bodes well for the rest of the season.

In last week’s games, the second team lost 3-0 away to a strong Sussex uni first team.

The Chi third team were 3-0 down with 15 minutes left against Portsmouth thirds but pulled it back to 3-3 and were unlucky not to take the three points.

The fifth team lost 2-1 away to St Mary’s University while the Chi sixth team won 3-0 to remain unbeaten.
