It’s been a sad week at Hailsham Town Football Club as they lost two lifelong supporters and volunteers of the club.
Their former groundsman and loyal club volunteer Len Case has passed away.
While last Friday Vivien Fowler, their former vice president, died aged 72.
Club president Mervin Walker said, “It has been a very tough last few days for the club. They were both huge parts of Hailsham Town and our thoughts go out their families. I worked with Vivien for the best part of 40 years, he will be missed.”
A club statement read: “Len, who was still attending games until very recently, will be missed by all at the club and our sympathies go to his family.”
The club are requesting league permission for a minutes silence prior to their next home fixture.
Hailsham were due to play tonight against Wick and Barnham at the Beaconsfield but the match was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Their next home match is planned for December 19 against Eastbourne Town.
