Hastings will travel to Sittingbourne in Ryman Football League Division One South hoping for more of the same following their crushing opening day victory on Saturday.

The U’s began the new term with a 6-0 thrashing of Chipstead at The Pilot Field courtesy of a Jack Harris hat-trick, and one apiece from Sam Cole, Zac Attwood and Bright Temba.

Sittingbourne, by contrast, will be seeking their first points after losing 3-1 away to Herne Bay. The Brickies trailed 2-0 at half time and although Jake Beecroft pulled one back, a third Herne Bay goal near the end sealed Sittingbourne’s fate.

Midfield player Tom Vickers has returned to United having spent much of pre-season with Lewes and could well go straight into the squad for tonight’s match, which will kick-off at 7.45pm.

Elsewhere, Bexhill will travel to Seaford Town in a Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One match where both teams will be going in search of their first points.

Bexhill lost 7-2 in a remarkable opening day clash away to Oakwood on Saturday. Both teams had two players sent-off and Bexhill midfielder Chris Cumming-Bart had two penalties saved after opening the scoring with a free kick.

Seaford, who finished bottom of the old Sussex County League Division Two with just one point last season, began the 2015/16 campaign with a 1-0 loss away to Storrington at the weekend. That match will also kick-off at 7.45pm.
