Hastings will travel to East Grinstead Town knowing they can ill-afford any more slip-ups in their pursuit of a Ryman Football League Division One South play-off place.

The U’s are one position and three points outside the all-important top five with four matches remaining following Saturday’s 1-1 draw away to a South Park side which played the last five minutes with nine men.

A victory tonight would move United above fifth-placed Faversham Town on goal difference, albeit having played an extra match. The three teams immediately beneath United in the table, Corinthian-Casuals, Molesey and Herne Bay, are also playing tonight.

East Grinstead are one place and five points above the three relegation spots, and were beaten 5-2 in January’s reverse fixture at The Pilot Field.

Simon Johnson and Billy Medlock are set to return for United having sat out the South Park game through suspension. Kick-off at the GAC Stadium is 7.30pm.

Elsewhere, Little Common will continue their hectic run of matches with a visit from Southwick in Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One.

Common will be playing their fifth encounter in 11 days, a sequence which started with a 3-2 loss in the reverse fixture on Easter Saturday.

The Commoners were 5-1 winners at home to Selsey in their last outing on Saturday and another victory tonight would move them within a point of sixth-placed Southwick with four games remaining. Kick-off at the Rec is 7.30pm.
