The U’s will be hellbent on securing three important points when they entertain Tooting & Mitcham United in Ryman Football League Division One South.

Both teams have won three, drawn three and lost four of their opening 10 league games, with Tooting’s superior goal difference giving them the edge over United just below the middle of the table.

United will be eager to bounce back from the disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Carshalton Athletic on Saturday which ended their six-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Kenny Pogue brought United level in the 74th minute and they looked the more likely winners thereafter, but the Carshalton goalkeeper pulled off a couple more top class saves and the visitors nabbed an 89th minute winner.

Eight of Tooting’s nine matches during September are away from home and they’ve drawn both of their last two outings 1-1, firstly at home to Whitstable Town and then away to Corinthian-Casuals.

United’s under-21s are also in action tonight away to Chatham Town in their first Ryman U21 League South Division game under the new management duo of Scott Price and Andy Laskey. Both matches will kick-off at 7.45pm.
