The U’s overturned a half time deficit to win 3-2 away to Wroxham in the FA Trophy preliminary round and they are now unbeaten in six cup ties so far this term.

United were 1-0 down at the break, but goals from Chris Cumming-Bart, Billy Medlock and Sam Cole put them 3-1 up before Wroxham pulled one back towards the end.

It means United will travel to Chipstead - who are bottom of Ryman Football League Division One South and lost 6-0 to United on the opening day of the season - in first round qualifying on Saturday October 31.

With no Zac Attwood, Cumming-Bart made his first United start since his recent move from Bexhill United in the only change from the starting line-up during the midweek FA Cup replay win over Herne Bay.

In a clash between the teams lying 15th in Ryman Division One North and South, Wroxham took a fifth minute lead through David Hinton and that was how it remained at half time even though Medlock struck the home crossbar with a free kick.

After Medlock’s header was superbly saved by Elliott Pride, United equalised in the 55th minute when Cumming-Bart turned and fired past the Wroxham goalkeeper.

Cumming-Bart went from scorer to provider as he squared for Medlock to tap home United’s second goal in the 71st minute. Eight minutes later it was 3-1 as Cole converted a penalty for the second successive game.

Wroxham pulled one back with a penalty of their own in the 84th minute, tucked away by Jamie Forshaw, but United saw the game out to make the approximately 170-mile trip to the heart of Norfolk thoroughly worthwhile.

United: Pelling, Crabb, Hall, Rowe, Vickers, Cruttwell, Medlock, Adams (Hollobone), Cumming-Bart, Harris (Richardson-Brown), Cole. Subs not used: Temba, Ray, Rose. Attendance: 112.
