After a fantastic 2019-20 season for United, the midfielder will be crossing the pond to study sport management at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

He will also be part of their football team competing in the NCAA Soccer Division II.

A Hastings United spokesman said: "James has had an incredible breakout season for the Us with 25 appearances in all competitions, which included back-to-back starts in the last three Isthmian South East League games in which we picked up the full nine points.

"We wish James all the success in the world as he embarks on this amazing adventure. Once a ‘U’ always a ‘U’. Winners Do More!"
