Hastings game on; Bexhill and Common off

Hastings United Football Club's match away to Walton & Hersham this afternoon (Saturday) is set to go ahead.

Only light rain is falling in Walton-on-Thames at the moment and the host club says the Ryman Football League Division One South game is on. Kick-off is 3pm.

The news will be welcomed by United, who have already had six games postponed since Christmas - all away from home - and have between two and five matches in hand on every other club in the division.

Bexhill United’s scheduled visit from Seaford Town and Little Common’s trip to Storrington in Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One, however, have succumbed to waterlogged pitches.

In fact, every game in the division has suffered the same fate. Common still haven’t played a league fixture, incidentally, since the festive derby against Bexhill on Monday December 28.

Confirmation is still being sought as to whether or not Westfield’s match at home to Montpelier Villa in Southern Combination Division Two has beaten the weather. Kick-off is due to be at 2pm.

The vast majority of today’s Macron East Sussex Football League programme has been wiped out, although Northiam 75 versus Bexhill AAC in Division Two and Hooe Sports against Herstmonceux II in Division Three are on as things stand.

The Sussex Bluefin Junior Cup quarter-final between East Sussex League sides Hailsham Athletico and Crowhurst will definitely go ahead on the 3G pitch at Eastbourne Sports Park. Kick-off is 12.30pm.
