The skilful wide player confirmed his departure on social media site Twitter last night (Tuesday) and said it wasn’t because of the club’s league position.

He wrote: “Sadly I have left @hastingsufc for personal reasons 1st thing I want to say is thanks to all the REAL supporters who supported me and the boys during my time thanks to all the management team and all the boys will miss them all very much I have as I have a soft spot for the club and loved my time there as I said I have personal reasons for leaving and wish every one the best. And hope to be back to the pilot field again soon no doubt the boys will do you all proud and stay up again thanks @hastingsufc”

Hassan, 23, has scored five goals in 56 appearances since joining United from Hythe Town in March 2014, and has received several positive comments from club officials and supporters on Twitter since announcing his exit.

United are 20th in Ryman Football League Division One South having picked up just eight points from their 11 matches since the turn of the year, the latest of which was a dismal 2-0 defeat at home to Corinthian-Casuals on Monday night.
