Hastings target another victory

Hastings United will seek to climb further away from relegation danger tonight (Tuesday).

The U’s will be gunning for a fourth victory in five Ryman Football League Premier Division matches when they entertain Kingstonian.

Saturday’s 3-1 win at home to second-bottom Croydon Athletic has put fifth-bottom Hastings five points above the four relegation places with eight matches remaining.

Eighth-placed Kingstonian are one of a gaggle of clubs looking to break into the play-off spots. They are currently two points outside the all-important top five.

Harry Beautyman is a major injury doubt for Hastings after lasting just 35 minutes of the Croydon match. The talented midfielder had been left out of the last Tuesday’s trip to AFC Hornchurch to rest a groin problem.

Elsewhere tonight, Sidley United will be out to make it eight Sussex County League Division One games without defeat when they host Three Bridges.

But second-placed Bridges will be smarting from their 4-0 drubbing at the hands of John O’Hara League Cup final opponents Rye United on Saturday.

Dan Cruikshank may return for Sidley, but Kevin Bird had five stitches in a head wound sustained in the 1-1 draw against Arundel at the weekend and Jason Taylor is struggling for fitness. Both games will kick-off at 7.45pm.
