The combative midfielder made ten appearances, scoring once, in all competitions for the U's during their curtailed 2020-21 season.

Dixon is the last surviving member from United's famous 2012-13 FA Cup run, and made 35 appearances, scoring eight goals, in 2019-20 before that campaign also came to an abrupt end.

Earlier this week, Hastings confirmed that defender Gary Elphick will be staying at the club for the 2021-22 campaign.

That news followed the re-signing of defender Ollie Black on March 12.

Speaking to the club's website, Dixon said: "“I am really happy to announce that I’ll be staying at a club I am really proud to represent and play my part in taking it forward.

"It’s been a tough 12 months for us all, but we have a lot to be excited about going forward with Hastings United

"We have a tight group of players and staff who have had two promotions taken away from us. I am sure my teammates agree we have some unfinished business to address come August.

"I can’t wait to be back at The TGS Pilot Field, up the ‘U’s!”

U's boss Chris Agutter, also speaking to the club's website, added: “I am pleased to be working with Jack again, an important member of what has been a successful team.

"Jack is without doubt in the top three box-to-box midfielders at this level, he is a local lad and a top person, which is the most important thing.”

And Hastings United CEO Billy Wood said: "“Jack Dixon is synonymous with Hastings United.

"Both on and off the pitch Jack represents Hastings United with pride, something you cannot buy.

"I am sure he is looking forward like most are to a full season ahead and we know on the pitch he will help the tempo of the team and add important goals along the way, just like he has done over the past few years.”
