That is the view of manager Dominic Di Paola as the Hornets face the K’s for the first time this season.

Tonight’s fixture at Tolworth's King George’s Field has already been rearranged twice due to Kingstonian’s stunning runs in the FA Cup and Trophy.

The K’s recorded a shock 4-0 win in the FA Cup first round win at League Two Macclesfield Town before they bowed out at the second round.

The Surrey outfit also reached the second round of the Trophy, upsetting National League side Woking on their run.

But the K’s FA Cup and Trophy adventures has meant they are now playing catch up with the rest of the league.

Kingstonian have played four games less than the Hornets and are 14 points off the play-offs.

Ahead of the game, Di Paola said: “It’s another tough away game.

“They were one of my title favourites at the beginning of the season.

“The only reason they aren’t challenging is because they’ve had so many cup disruptions.

“They’ll have a really good second half of the season I think.”

After tonight's clash, Horsham welcome 13th-placed Haringey Borough to the Camping World Community Stadium on Saturday.

And Di Paola admitted a number of players were fighting a fitness battle this week.

He added: “We’ve got a number of players struggling.

“(Steve) Metcalf, (Greg) Cundle and (Joe) Shelley are all carrying knocks.

“Charlie Harris is away in Australia, so we’ve got some decisions to make as to what squad to go with.”

Kick off for tonight's game at King George's Field is 7.45pm.
