The FA confirmed the curtailment of the 2020-21 season for leagues at steps three to six of the football pyramid in England in February.

A survey sent to all clubs at steps three to six found that more than 76 per cent were in favour of ending the current season if it could not begin with limited spectators before April 1.

The Hornets have yet to play a full season in the Isthmian Premier Division following promotion in 2019.

They’ve been in the top half of the division in each of the two curtailed seasons and will be hoping for another good campaign in 2021-22.

Di Paola has no plans to reconvene the squad for training before pre-season as Horsham have no supplementary cup or league matches to look forward to.

But the wheels are already in motion for ‘some adjustments’ to the squad ahead of the upcoming 21-22 Isthmian Premier campaign.

Di Paola said: “We’re definitely thinking about it (next season). As always there will be some moves and changes.

“There will be some adjustments to the squad. We’ve always got to be looking for the following season.

“It’s quite at the forefront of our minds really.

“We’re looking at where we need to strengthen, where we need to improve in general.

“We’ll try to formulate a plan to go again.”

Meanwhile Horsham have confirmed that trials for their under-18s team will take place at The Camping World Community Stadium.

Exact dates have not yet been confirmed but trials for new and returning players will take place sometime this summer.

The Hornets under-18s’ first season in five seasons was rather fleeting in nature.

The youngsters exited the FA Youth Cup at the first round and only played three Isthmian Youth League games before the season was curtailed.

To be eligible for the under-18s you must be at least 15 years old by midnight on August 31, and not over the age of 18 by midnight on August 31.
