Horsham YMCA exit Supplementary Shield after heavy defeat to Alfold
Yet there were stages in the game when the outcome might have been different.
For the first ten minutes YM had the bulk of the possession, earning two corners and then taking the lead, Ben Aubrey converting a penalty after a tussle in the box.

Following two corners apiece, the ball was given away for Renato Carvalho to find the vacant goal, and suddenly, it was all Alfold.
Ryan Harris blazed over, before Noel Fisher was felled for the hosts to double their lead with a well-taken spot kick.
Jeffery Yohou responded for YM, but his long range effort was just off target. Alfold, though were better on the ball, and the first half ended with them looking the more comfortable.

At the other end Yohou found himself in a one-on-one situation to no avail and Ben Harrison cannoned over.
However, sub Joseph Bedford tormented YM, and Alfold were not yet done, thrusting Ash Mutongerwa coolly taking advantage to score Alfold’s fifth from the last kick of the game with Webb-Olley prostrate.
Reflecting on YM’s exit from the competition, president Ron Moulding told the County Times: “That was very disappointing. We gifted them goals and didn’t capitalise on the opportunities that we created for ourselves.”
