Ifield Galaxy become league champions

Despite being a player short, Ifield’s Ali Kuyateh converted a shot to take a 1-0 lead.

Just before half-time Copthorne pressed very hard to create and scored making it 1-1 at half-time.

This set-up a nerve-jangling 30 minutes of football and after a gruelling second half with some really tired legs and great defensive play from the Rain boys, Kuyateh scored a brace with a great goal making it 2-1.

This sealed victory and meant they were crowned league champions with two games in hand.

This showed brilliant perseverance with an eight-man team making them a credit to Crawley youth football.

Ifield’s success is all the more remarkable as they are playing against players who are more than a year older than themselves in most cases.
