Impressive numbers at Stringers’ first pre-season training session

New-look Hailsham Town started back at pre-season this week with healthy numbers of 60 attending.

New management team of Andy Goodchild and Howard Stevens have drafted in UEFA B coach Aidan McManus and Mick Richards to support the training, with Gavin Richards providing the bespoke goalkeeping coaching.

With a chairman in Peter Coleman, Goodchild said his new employers look keen to progress as a club and “with an active committee off the pitch the future is bright for the season”. He added: “This is a club with great potential and I want to be part of that transition. Howard and I are keen to bring a community feel back to the club with a football for all policy. We are both advocates of getting the ball down and playing expansive possession football.

“Training will be professional, well structured and above all enjoyable, which we hope will attract new players to the club.”

Hailsham train Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Beaconsfield at 7pm. All players old and new are welcome. For enquiries please ring Andy Goodchild on 07595175064.
