It's all change at Polegate Town

Polegate Town have said a massive thank-you to Jules Maynard, who is stepping down as chairman.

Maynard has held the role since 2016 and the club said they were very grateful for his work and commitment, raising money and the club’s profile.

He will still support the club.

The club have also thanked Richard North, who is stepping down from the committee ahead of a knee operation. A spokesman said: “We wish Rich luck with the operation and a speedy recovery.”

Polegate have acted swiftly in appointing anew chairman: Graham Holder is stepping up to the role.

‘Hoddle’ brings great enthusiasm to the club and is well respected at the club and in Polegate. He will be supported by new vice-chairman Nick Underdown.

‘Unders’ has been involved in the club for several years and has a great connection with players and supporters. The club added: “We look forward to having Graham and Nick oversee our club.”

Previous vice-chairman Stuart Black becomes vice-president. Black helped reform the club in 2006 and still passionate about it.

Polegate Town beat Wadhurst United 2-1 in the Sussex Intermediate Cup.

Despite trailing at half-time, Town levelled through Robbie Callingham before Alex Frost netted the winner from the penalty spot on the hour.

In the next round they face Littlehampton United.
