'It’s gonna be a looong season' - Crawley Town fans react to Covid-19 outbreak and Stevenage postponement

Crawley Town fans have reacted to the news there is a Covid-19 outbreak at the club which has caused the cancellation of tonight's game with Stevenage and has put Saturday's FA Cup tie in doubt.

Crawley announced the news this morning are continuing to work with the EFL, FA and Public Health England to ensure the safety of all players and staff, with a further announcement regarding future fixtures, including the Reds FA Cup tie against AFC Bournemouth, to come in due course.

Reds fans on the Crawley Town FC Supporters Group Facebook page have reacted to the news.

Alex Wright said: "It starts. Could be the first of many postponements. TBH surprised we hadn’t had this issue before. It’s gonna be a looong season."

Stuart Frost said: "Let's face it we've done well to hold it off this long considering we were the south east epicenter recently."

Ian Selggets and Peter Bellamy both said Saturday's game will probably not go ahead now, but any doubts Bournemouth will get a bye to fifth round of the FA Cup were quashed.

Steve Herbert said: "They didn’t throw Shrewsbury out. So would be wrong if Bournemouth were given a bye."

Jason Bates said: "Got to play the game win or lose. Cant throw 77k down the drain."

The circumstances surrounding the postponements will now be the subject of an investigation in accordance with EFL regulations and technical director Erdem Konyar said the club cannot make any further comment until tat investigation is done.
