Just when Chichester City thought fortune was turning...

IN AN action-packed game, Chichester relinquished a 2-1 advantage and conceded three goals in the final seven minutes at Ringmer to condemn them to another week of misery in division one of the Sussex League.

Liam Johnson made his goalkeeping debut for City in a line-up that included several Moneyfields players, including veteran Nathan Wall.

Redhill took the lead against the run of play on 25 minutes with Marcus Elliott beating Johnson and sending in a low cross for Leon Dussard to convert from point-blank range. But City’s response was quick, Michael Brown heading in to make it 1-1.

With the second half only a few minutes old Redhill were awarded a penalty when Lee Radford was fouled, but Dussard’s spot-kick was sky high.

The Reds continued to pressurise their opponents and won another penalty midway through the half. This time Ryan Briggs took it, but Johnson made a superb save to keep Chichester in contention.

Wall burst through the home defence on 82 minutes to give City the lead.

The amazing Redhill comeback followed, kick-started by Elliott, who broke clear and equalised.

Four minutes later sub Jeffrey Addo-Dankwa picked up a pass, surged forward with breathtaking pace and planted the ball in the City net.

In the 88th minute Ryan Briggs spotted the keeper off his line and unleashed a shot from nearly 50 yards that sailed over Johnson and in.
