Key few days for Hastings

Managerless Hastings United will take on two of their fellow strugglers during an important next three days.

The U’s entertain Horsham - who also parted company with their boss last weekend - today (Saturday) before travelling to Aveley on Monday night.

United are fifth-bottom in the Ryman Football League Premier Division with 10 points from 12 games, Horsham are second-bottom with seven from 11 and Aveley are sixth-bottom with 11 from 12.

A United side which hasn’t won in the league since September 13 could really do with a decent return from the two games because five of their six subsequent league fixtures are against teams in the top nine.

They also need a boost after their midweek FA Trophy exit at the hands of Bedfont Town. Sean Ray will assist Mark Stapley, who will once again act as caretaker manager.

The club will once again be offering free admission to under-18s. Those aged 18-21 will be charged a concessionary rate of just £3, subject to the usual proof of age being provided.
