The French winger played 106 games for the Foxes from 2012 to 2015 and helped them win the Championship title in 2013/14.

Knockaert left Leicester to join Standard Liege in July, 2015, but returned to England when he moved to Brighton six months later.

The 27-year-old starred in the Championship for Albion and was player of the season when the Seagulls were promoted to the top flight in 2016/17.

He has not started a Premier League game since the middle of December but has impressed in the FA Cup in recent weeks as he looks to get back into Chris Hughton's league team.

Knockaert received a warm reception from Leicester fans when Brighton played at Leicester last season and on returning to the King Power Stadium tonight, he said: "It's special. I still have Leicester in my heart. I had a great time there and won the Championship with them.

"It's a great club and last year when I went back , they gave me a warm welcome.

"It's a club still in my heart and I was really sad about the tragedy which happened with the chairman, who I knew really well.

"It will be good to see some faces again and to see the fans but obviously I hope we're going to win still."
